David Callam became Scotland’s 999th international when he appeared as a replacement in the 2006 November win over Romania. His physical approach to the game made him a regular in the side last season in the absence of the injured Simon Taylor. Callam’s only World Cup appearance came against New Zealand at Murrayfield. He is a former Scotland Under-21 captain, a Sevens international and played for Scotland A in the 2006 Churchill Cup. He joined Edinburgh in 2004, and last year signed a new deal despite interest from clubs in England and France.
