Ulster hooker Rory Best is a major doubt for Ireland's summer tour to New Zealand and Australia after sustaining an ill-timed ankle injury during Ulster's 41-10 win against Connacht.

The hooker sustained the injury early in the second half, leaving Ireland boss Declan Kidney facing an anxious wait before naming his touring party.

Connacht coach Michael Bradley was taking charge of his club for the final time but it proved to be a night to forget for the westerners.

Ulster secured eighth place in the Magners League by earning a six-try win, with tries by Simon Danielli, Ian Humphreys, Andi Kyriacou, Ian Whitten, Dan Tuohy and Jamie Smith.
