Mike Ruddock
Mike Ruddock left Sixways after a three-year spell with the Warriors
Ruddock says Warriors will bounce back from relegation

Former Wales coach Mike Ruddock has backed his relegated Guinness Premiership side Worcester to climb straight back into the top flight next season.
The 50-year-old, who led Wales to an RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam in 2005, resigned as director of rugby at Sixways club on Wednesday after the 12-10 defeat to Leeds confirmed their drop out of English rugby’s top flight.

But with Andy Goode, Neil Best and Toulon full-back Luke Rooney all due to arrive this summer, Ruddock insists it won’t be long before Worcester are back in the top division.

He said: "As director of rugby I take full responsibility for the situation we find ourselves in. Ultimately our inability to win close games has cost us dearly.

"I would like to thank the chairman for his fantastic support during my time at the club. I am devastated that I have not been able to deliver the success both he and the fans at Sixways deserve.

"I am sure that the squad that has been put together for next season will bounce straight back up and that they will be even stronger for the experience. I truly wish Worcester Warriors every success for the future."
