Coach Rob Moffat has rung the changes for the Scottish outfit’s crucial penultimate Magners League tie, hoping to reignite his side’s ailing play-off charge after a humbling defeat at Newport Gwent Dragons last week.

And with Scottish international and regular captain Mike Blair sacrificed for Greig Laidlaw at scrum half, dynamic openside Grant is set to lead out the Gunners for the first time.

But despite being the only member of the Edinburgh pack not to receive a Scottish first team cap, Grant is adamant he will set the standard at the home of Scottish rugby.

"As a captain you have the best game of your life before you think of other things," said Grant.

“That's how I am going to approach it. If I have the game of my life hopefully the guys will follow.

“We need to set out our stall and put in a performance that means we can still strive for that play-off place.”
