Leinster coach Michael Cheika lamented referee James Jones's performance after seeing four of his young team sin-binned during a 30-6 defeat to Glasgow Warriors on Friday night.
Having already sealed their place in the Magners League playoffs, Cheika sent an inexperienced side to Firhill with more than half an eye on their Heineken Cup semi final at Toulouse on May 1.
But yellow cards to Dominic Ryan, Trevor Hogan, Rhys Ruddock and Mike Ross soured the encounter as the Warriors stormed clear in the second half.
And Cheika admitted his inexperienced side should have been treated with more tact in what was always going to be a highly physical match.
“I was really disappointed with the officiating,” said Cheika. “We’ve got a young team out on the paddock that needs the game to be officiated the right way to stay in touch with a strong Glasgow side.
“So I’m a little disappointed for them because they put their heart and soul into it.
“That kind of stuff needs to be reviewed because it can affect the livelihood of a lot of young players.”
