Blues boss Dai Young poured cold water on suggestions Wales back-rower Andy Powell is prepared to cross codes to rugby league.
Since his arrest for the drunken incident involving a golf buggy during the RBS 6 Nations, Powell has been rumoured to have been unhappy in union and has been linked with a switch to the Wales-based Super League franchise Crusaders.
But ahead of the Welsh derby against the Dragons on Sunday, Young says Powell is going nowhere despite admitting having a conversation with Crusaders coach Brian Noble.
He said: “We haven’t heard anything officially from Andy or the Crusaders.
“Andy hasn’t approached me about it and the Crusaders haven’t said anything to us officially.
“We have heard the rumours, but anybody who says they enjoy or watch rugby league is going to be linked to the Crusaders.
“I have had one discussion with Brian (Noble) and that was when this story first came out.
“I informed him that Andy was in contract for next season. He wasn’t aware of that and since then there has been nothing.
“I think it got blown up from an interview Brian did, talking about liking the look and physique of a union player like Andy Powell.”
