England Saxons full-back Alex Goode has admitted he would love to make the switch to fly-half - but insists he won't rush into making the move.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a successful season at No.15 for Saracens but has yet to dislodge the impressive Glen Jackson at fly-half.
And Goode, who is hotly tipped for a place at in Martin Johnson’s summer touring squad of Australia and New Zealand, insists he doesn’t want to rush into making the switch.
“It isn’t touched on much how incredibly hard it is to go from nothing to the Premiership as a fly-half,” he said.
“There are few, if any, who have managed it. Look at Danny Cipriani. He has struggled. Look at Shane Geraghty or Ryan Lamb.
“But I don’t really want to rush going to 10. People talk about it quite a bit but I’ve sat down with Brendan (Venter) and said exactly that.
“I’ve been playing full-back for a year and a half. I’d never played there before and look at the improvement I’ve shown.”
