Edinburgh's Chris Paterson said he's ready to return to training after revealing he split his kidney in Scotland's dramatic RBS 6 Nations defeat to Wales.
Paterson and Thom Evans both suffered tournament-ending injuries during the 31-24 loss in February, with the 32-year-old leaving the field ten minutes before the break.
Scotland led by ten points with three minutes remaining in Cardiff only for Andy Robinson’s depleted side to lose out to late tries from Leigh Halfpenny and Shane Williams.
Paterson has sat out four Magners League games since hobbling off at the Millennium Stadium and was sorely missed as the Gunners crashed 22-21 at Connacht.
But with Edinburgh still holding off Glasgow to cling to fourth spot a potential play-off place, Scotland’s record points scorer could yet return to action before the season is out.
