Munster made it 17 wins on the trot at Thomond Park and leap-frogged Glasgow in the Magners League table thanks to a kicking master-class from Ronan O'Gara.
O’Gara silenced his recent critics by kicking five penalties and a touchline conversion to clinch a 27-19 win, with Denis Hurley and Jean de Villiers contributing a try each.
Glasgow found themselves behind after 14 minutes when Alan Quinlan took a quick tap penalty and the ball found its way to Hurley who touched down in the corner.
O’Gara’s conversion from the touchline came back off an upright, but after 20 minutes the out-half landed a penalty from the same spot from where he missed his first attempt.
Munster were further boosted when Graeme Morrison was sent to the bin after 24 minutes for a high tackle on Ian Dowling.
An O’Gara pass was then intercepted by John Barclay who raced away from his own 22 for a try at the other end which Dan Parks converted to add to his earlier penalty.
But a second O’Gara penalty had Munster 11-10 in front at the interval.
Another Parks penalty nine minutes in to the second half edged Glasgow 13-11 in front, but then O’Gara replied with trhee in rapid succession.
Parks pulled two penalties back to leave only a point between the sides, but Munster had the final say with a de Villiers’ try.
