Fly-half Jones insists Wales were back to their best against Italy

Wales man-of-the match Stephen Jones insisted his side were back to their old selves as they comfortably saw off Italy 33-10 in their final RBS 6 Nations clash at the Millenium Stadium.

Fly-half Jones kicked 18 points – and James Hook (2) and Shane Williams crossed for tries – as Warren Gatland’s side ended a disappointing tournament on a high on home soil.

Wales’ only other win came against Scotland in the second round of matches but Jones was quick to point to the positives.

“It was a very good performance for us,” said Jones. “It was the most complete performance of the Six Nations for us.

“We always thought that if we could keep the ball then they would fatigue in the second half.”
