Parks delight at finally tasting victory

Dan Parks cemented his spot as Scotland's star of the tournament with a third RBS 6 Nations Man-of-the-Match award against Ireland - then admitted his delight at finally tasting victory.
Parks held his nerve to kick a last-minute penalty to seal a 23-20 victory and spoil Ireland's final appearance at Croke Park before they move back to Lansdowne Road.

The Australian-born fly-half had already claimed two man-of-the-match awards in the 2010 campaign - but in losing causes against Italy and Wales.

And Parks admitted after adding team success to personal accolades he was a happy man.

“We've deserved more than we have got in this championship and it feels fantastic to have got this win,” said Parks. “We came here to spoil the party and it should be a great night now.

“There was a bit of sportsmanship going on on the last kick but I got a good strike on it and it went through.”
