Bastareaud recalled for England clash

France coach Marc Lievremont has recalled Mattheu Bastareaud for his sides RBS 6 Nations clash with England on Saturday.

Bastareaud will return to the starting XV at centre in place of David Marty, after the 21 year old began Sunday’s win over Italy on the bench, in France's only change.

Marty started against the Azzurri as Bastareaud had failed to fully recover from an ankle injury sustained on club duty for Stade Francais, and scored two tries in the 46-20 victory.

But Lievremont has opted for the eight-timed-capped Bastareaud rather than his more experienced rival as his side prepare for the visit of Martin Johnson’s team.

Les Bleus currently top the table, two points clear of Ireland who meet Scotland in Dublin, and Lievremont will be hoping this change will help clinch the Grand Slam for his side at the Stade de France.

France team to face England: Clement Poitrenaud, Marc Andreu, Mathieu Bastareaud, Yannick Jauzion, Alexis Palisson, Francois Trinh-Duc, Morgan Parra; Imanol Harinordoquy, Julien Bonnaire, Thierry Dusautoir, Julien Pierre, Lionel Nallet, Nicolas Mas, William Servat, Thomas Domingo
