Robinson insists Scotland can take on anyone

Scotland coach Andy Robinson claims that his side can match up to anybody after their 15-15 draw against England in the Calcutta Cup.
The former England head coach is still searching for his first RBS 6 Nations victory with his adopted country but feels that Scotland have improved since their defeat to Italy two weeks ago.

He said: “The thing for us, and what I said to the team, is that we can stand toe-to-toe with anybody and play against anybody.

"I thought the set-piece work went well today, I thought some of the invention and things we tried to do (were good).

"Nobody said it was going to be easy, we've got to keep working hard.

"We have been working hard and I'm really pleased with the attitude."

Man of the match Johnnie Beattie admitted that the hosts were disappointed not to come away with the Calcutta Cup.

He said: “Yeah, we're totally disappointed not to get the win.

"It was a bit of a scrappy game but we've got the first points of the competition so we'll take that.

“The support was amazing so we'd like to thank everyone, it was very special."
