There are also changes on the bench with the exciting duo of Courtney Lawes and Ben Youngs, who would make his debut if he comes on, named alongside Brive hooker Steve Thomspon.

Moody was one of England’s standout players in the autumn internationals but Martin Johnson has opted to use Joe Worsley’s more physical approach.

Johnson also recalled Wasps star Worsley for last year’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales and was rewarded with a man-of-the-match display for his astonishing tackle count.

The 32-year-old has only recently returned to full fitness after suffering a knee injury in England’s 19-6 defeat to New Zealand in last year’s autumn internationals.

Northampton lock Lawes will be given his first taste of the Six Nations experience having made his debut against Australia while Youngs, who has been in outstanding form for Leicester, has replaced Paul Hodgson as the substitute scrum-half.
