Stade Francais lock Tom Palmer has been called up to the squad as an injury replacement for his former London Wasp colleague Shaw.

Johnson has further injury concerns, with London Irish full-back Delon Armitage struggling with a rib injury.

Northampton full-back Ben Foden, who came on for the last half-hour against Ireland, joined England's training camp at Pennyhill Park last Tuesday and is a likely replacement for Armitage.

Olly Morgan has also been called into the squad and the Gloucester full-back could be on the bench if Armitage is not fit.

Northampton back Shane Geraghty has also been called up as a precaution as cover for Leicester's Toby Flood, who took a knock on his head over the weekend playing for his club

While Gloucester centre Mike Tindall has also been called into the squad by national manager Martin Johnson.
