Injury blow for England boss

Manager Martin Johnson is set to be without Simon Shaw and Delon Armitage for England's RBS 6 Nations match against Scotland.
Lock Shaw picked up a shoulder injury in the 20-16 defeat to Ireland while Armitage has a rib cartilage injury.

And Johnson insists he is already formulating a contingency plan should two of his star performers miss out on the Calcutta Cup clash.

“We will know more next week but it is likely, particularly Simon, that they will be ruled out,” said Johnson.

“Delon’s rib injury is difficult to call when he will be fit but he and Simon are progressing very well.

“We would like black and white decisions about injuries but they are never black and white. Guys heal at different rates, particularly with ribs. It can be weeks, months or days.”
