Dragons coach Paul Turner is backing Luke Charteris to make a RBS 6 Nations return against Ireland.
The 26-year-old lock lost his place following Wales' defeat to England and was snubbed for a return to the starting XV in last week’s 26-20 defeat by France.
But with the second row in sparkling club form - including a man-of-the-match performance in the Dragons’ 22-22 Magners League draw with Ulster - Turner has urged Warren Gatland to include him in the team to face Ireland next Saturday.
He said: “Luke played well for us in Ravenhill a couple of weeks ago. It would be great if he can put in another performance against Munster on Saturday.
“His work rate is second to none, his general work rate and defence are very good.
“You would have thought he would be starting against Ireland in Dublin.”
