England Under-20 winger Jonny May has called on the team to prove their strength of character after their Grand Slam ambitions went up in smoke against Ireland.
Mark Mapletoft’s side were stunned 25-10 by Ireland to leave the Championship race wide open.
But Gloucester starlet May believes the squad’s true colours will be shown in the remaining matches away to Scotland and France with the IRB Junior World Championship in Argentina on the horizon this summer.
He said: “Scotland and France will be hard but we've got to believe we are capable of winning them. We have nothing to lose now and we can go there.
“Grand Slam pressure is off now and we've got to prove ourselves as a team.
“No position for anyone is secure on the plane to Argentina I think we've got seven players out at the moment and every position is competitive. Everyone's got to keep putting their hands up and keep performing.”
