Scrum-half Danny Care insists England aren't out of the running for the RBS 6 Nations title despite their miserable 20-16 defeat to Ireland.
England had comeback from 13-6 down to lead 16-13 but Tommy Bowe’s second try in the final minutes consigned Martin Johnson’s men to their first defeat of the tournament.
And with trips to old foes Scotland and unbeaten France still to come England’s chances of winning the Six Nations for the first time since 2003 are on the slide.
But Care believes they can still upset the odds. He said: “We aren’t out of the competition yet and hopefully we will come back firing in our final two games.
“We had won our first two games and wanted to make it three so it was a huge disappointment – probably the biggest of my career so far.
“It was a really frustrating result. We probably played the better rugby in the game and to get three points ahead with a few minutes to go we thought we could hold out.”
