England might have claimed the last four women's RBS 6 Nations crowns but head of performance Nicky Ponsford has admitted adding a fifth will be the toughest yet.
Ponsford’s side have finished top of the Six Nations pile since the 2006 tournament and after a resounding 41-0 victory in Italy last weekend look well placed for another title tilt.
But with the standards of women’s rugby increasing all the time Ponsford believes a 2010 triumph would be the best yet.
“The standards across the game are getting better all the time and we need to make sure we keep matching that,” said Ponsford.
“The game is becoming quicker all the time and we are having to work harder in every game to get the victory we want.
“We have got another tough game against Ireland next time out and just like everyone in the tournament they will be a very hard side to play against.”
