DAN COLE will make his first start for England in the second round of the RBS 6 Nations against Italy in Rome on Sunday.
The Leicester Tigers prop, 22, won his first cap as a replacement in the 30-17 win over Wales last weekend and takes over from David Wilson (Bath Rugby) against the Azzurri.
England Team Manager Martin Johnson makes one other change with Riki Flutey (CA Brive) replacing Toby Flood (Leicester Tigers) at inside centre.
Flutey, who celebrates his 30th birthday today, was originally selected to face Wales but withdrew after taking a knock on his right thigh in training.
Johnson will name the seven replacements for the game at the Stadio Flaminio in due course.
