Homer is equally at home as a wing, centre or full-back but with a star-studded Exiles back line to compete with the 19-year-old has started just three Guinness Premiership games this season.
But Homer is adamant the familiar atmosphere of the Under-20s can help him show Irish coach Toby Booth just what he’s missing out on.
“I’ve been told by my coaches at the Irish that I need to work on my communication and I find it really difficult to do that with my club rugby because of all of the big names,” said Homer.
“So it’s good to come away with England in a slightly different role where I find it easier to communicate to my team-mates and hopefully I can put in some good performances and really get my confidence up.
“I know these boys really well and of course we are all around the same age so it is never a problem settling in and it really helps my game when I’m playing with England.”
