Robinson calls for winning start against France
Robinson rings changes for Les Bleus battle.

Scotland coach Andy Robinson has called on his side to hit the ground running against France on Sunday after ringing the changes for the visit of the Les Bleus.
Former England manager Robinson has made six amendments to the side that went down 9-6 to Argentina in the last of Scotland’s autumn internationals.

Chris Paterson returns for his 99th cap at full-back with Glasgow duo Max Evans and Graeme Morrison back to shore up the midfield.

Gloucester loose-head prop Alasdair Dickinson and Glasgow flankers Kelly Brown and John Barclay are also recalled while uncapped 20-year-old Richie Gray is on the bench.

Gray is one of ten Warriors players in the match day 22 while Edinburgh contribute five.

And while Robinson believes his side are a team on the up he was quick to sound a note of caution about the talents of their French foes.

"We are excited about the start of the Championship but we know that we have not won our first game in the competition since 2006, so all our focus is on making a winning start against France on Sunday,” said Robinson.

"There has been improved competition for places since the Autumn Tests and selection has been based both on achievements within the autumn matches and on current form.

"France have a fantastic squad. The fact they defeated New Zealand in Dunedin last June illustrates that they can win and win well away from home.”
