England's RBS Six Nations opener against Wales will make history by becoming Europe's first sport match to be broadcast 3D in public
Following the trend of several major Hollywood blockbusters, England’s clash with Wales and the home match against Ireland on February 27, will be broadcast at 40 Odeon cinemas throughout the country.
Both matches will be filmed with special 3D cameras and the broadcast is being shown in association with O2.
And Rugby Football Union operations director Paul Vaughan is hoping England fans will latch onto the event.
He said: “This demonstrates England rugby has a rich history and an even richer future.
“I hope rugby fans will pack cinemas across the country to support the team and mark this milestone.”
