Fly-half injury not as bad as first feared
Jones hands Gatland injury boost

Wales coach Warren Gatland's injury concerns have been given a boost with news that Stephen Jones' shoulder injury is not as serious as first thought.
The 83-cap fly-half was forced off after 53 minutes of the Scarlets’ 14-9 win at Newport Gwent Dragons on Thursday.

With Wales kicking off their RBS 6 Nations campaign against England at Twickenham on February 6 there were initial concerns that the 32-year-old might miss the curtain raiser.

But Scarlets coach Nigel Davies has moved to reassure Gatland and Wales fans.

"He took a bit of a bang on his a/c joint, I don't think it's anything too serious," said Davies.

"We'll monitor him over the next couple of days."

But Wales boss Gatland still has concerns over Blues centre Tom Shanklin – who limped off with a knee injury in Friday’s defeat against Ospreys – and injured trio Mike Phillips, Matthew Rees and Duncan Jones.
