Hutton deserves his chance says Moffat
7 January 2010, 5:20 am
By Sportsbeat
Rory Hutton will make his first Magners League start this weekend and Edinburgh boss Rob Moffat is convinced the former Leicester Tiger possesses all the ingredients to go right to the very top.
The Scotland sevens specialist will deputise for the injured Phil Godman in Edinburgh colours against Cardiff Blues at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Following last weekend’s loss to locals rivals Glasgow; Moffat has been forced to put his faith in the National Academy and Heriot’s stand-off against Cardiff.

Hutton featured for Edinburgh against Newcastle in a pre-season friendly but has yet to make his Magners League bow this season.

But with a hip injury plaguing Godman – Moffat has seen his hand forced.

He said: “We are looking forward to seeing what Rory can do. It is right for him to get a chance this week.

“This may be his Magners League debut, but he has a lot of experience both with Scotland sevens and at Premier 1 level with Hawick last season.”

Hutton’s elevation into the starting line-up is one of six changes to the side which lost to Glasgow Warriors last weekend with props Allan Jacobsen and David Young added to the front row.
