Dupuy is left frustrated
14 January 2010, 8:30 am
By Sportsbeat
Julien Dupuy will miss next month's RBS 6 Nations and will also not play again this season for Stade Francais or France after failing in his bid to overturn a 24-week ban for eye-gouging.
Dupuy did have his 24-week ban for eye-gouging reduced by one week but will still not feature again until after the summer.

The former Leicester Tiger was adjudged to have gouged Ulster and Ireland flanker Stephen Ferris during Stade’s 23-13 loss in the Heineken Cup on December 12.

An independent appeal committee made the ruling and Dupuy will now miss France's Six Nations campaign.

Stade president Max Guazzini said: "It is a very heavy sanction. (Ferris) said there was no gouging. The fact Dupuy is French probably played a role."
