Dan Parks becomes first player to score 1,000 Magners League points

Parks finally moves to Cardiff

Scotland's in-form fly-half Dan Parks has finally ended weeks of speculation by announcing he will join Cardiff Blues from Glasgow at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has been in sensational form for high-flying Glasgow in recent weeks and became the first player last month in Magners League history to surpass the 1,000 point mark.

The 47-capped Scotland number ten, who has been with the Warriors since 2003, has finished the Glasgow top-scorer in each of the last six seasons.

Cardiff Blues' director of rugby David Young said: "We are obviously aware of Dan's qualities as an outside-half from numerous encounters with Glasgow over the years.

"He is a quality player who has often been the difference between the two teams and a real thorn in our side on a number of occasions.

Australian-born Parks added: "I'm not moving club simply for a change but to win trophies. I feel the Blues are capable of that.

"But my full focus will remain with Glasgow until the end of the season."
