Gloucester snap up Scottish duo on extended deals

Scotland internationals Alasdair Strokosch and Scott Lawson have resisted the temptation to return home to Edinburgh or Glasgow by signing new contract extensions with Guinness Premiership Gloucester.

The news of the Scottish duo’s extended two-year deal follows hot on the heels of Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath securing the services of England prop Nick Wood earlier this week.

Flanker Strokosch, who has been capped 14 times by his country, joined Gloucester from Edinburgh in 2007, while 28-year-old Lawson arrived from Sale Sharks in 2008 having previously played for the Glasgow Warriors.

Gloucester head coach Redpath said: "This is really good news for Gloucester.

“Both Scotty and Strokes have been excellent so far for Gloucester this season and are exactly the type of characters we want in the squad going forward.

"The pair of them signing shows their commitment to the club and continues our work in retaining our key players for next season and beyond."
