Jonny Wilkinson is back to his best, according to his French opposite number Frédéric Michalak.
Wilkinson kicked all Toulon's points on his return to action in yesterday’s Top 14 18-13 victory over Michalak's Toulouse - enough to convince the Frenchman he has finally recovered his form and fitness following a succession of injuries.
"He is without doubt back to his best level," Michalak told BBC Sport.
"Each time he came into our half he scored points. It's important to have someone like that in your team."
Wilkinson, who has not played for England since the 2008 Six Nations, is likely to come into the reckoning for the autumn Test campaign.
Thirty-year-old Wilkinson was delighted with his day’s work.
"It's a great feeling to win," he said.
"We knew there was a chance to achieve something special - but we were expecting a tough match.”
