Ashley Smith is set to become Newport Gwent Dragons third captain in as many games when they face Glasgow at Rodney Parade.
Centre Smith leads the hosts following injuries to regular skipper Tom Willis (calf) and his recent stand-in Luke Charteris (eye).
There is some good news for the Welsh side however - scrum-half Danny Lee and back-row forwards Joe Bearman and Lewis Evans return.
Glasgow have lost Chris Cusiter for family reasons and fellow Scotland star Thom Evans through injury.
Mark McMillan and Colin Shaw come in along with Justin Va'a, Ed Kalman, Dan Turner and Calum Forrester.
Wales lock Charteris is out for two games with blurred vision after being injured in defeat by the Leinster and Willis suffered his injury against Ulster.
Dragons boss Paul Turner said: "It is a big blow to have lost Tom Willis and then Luke Charteris.
"But the guys showed in the Leinster game that they are able to step up and I am confident that Ashley will do the same tomorrow.
"He has shown himself to be a strong leader within the team.
"The return of Danny Lee, Joe Bearman and Lewis Evans will be an obvious boost and with several of our injured players looking to return in the next week or so, we are looking in good shape."
