Scotland captain Mike Blair has recovered from a throat infection and will take his place on the Edinburgh bench for tomorrow night's Magners League match against Connacht.
The 28-year-old scrum-half missed the opening two days’ training of the week through illness, but was deemed fit enough to participate in his club’s first home match of the season.
It could potentially be Blair’s first taste of competitive action since featuring for the British and Irish Lions against the Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth in June.
Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat welcomed the news and believes his skipper will be eager to resume first-team duties.
Moffat said: “It is great to see Mike back involved again. We’re looking forward to seeing him back playing for Edinburgh after his experience with the Lions.”
