Tim Visser cannot wait to make his Edinburgh debut in tomorrow's pre-season friendly against Harlequins.
The 22-year-old Dutch winger, who signed from Newcastle in May, has been named in a 27-man squad for the warm-up match against Quins.
He said: “I’m really excited about making my debut for Edinburgh; I want to show the Edinburgh fans what I can do in my first game.
“I think I’ll be quite nervous, but I will want to do as well as I can. The team we are playing against, Harlequins, are a side that I’ve played against before, so I think it will be a good occasion.”
Visser – Holland’s only professional rugby player – has enjoyed living in Scotland, although he has yet to shake off the Tyneside twang to his English accent.
He said: “I haven’t picked up a Scottish accent just yet; I still have a Geordie one! But I feel like I’ve settled in really well and I’m looking forward to helping Edinburgh achieve success.”
