Hugo Southwell is ready to defy the pain of a knee problem over the next three days and prove he is worthy of the Scotland number 15 jersey.
Southwell was forced to wait for his Top 14 debut for Stade Francais on Friday night because of his injury.
But the former Edinburgh star was determined to be at St Andrews today for the start of Andy Robinson’s first training camp as national team boss.
Southwell admits he may not be able to train fully, but said: “I’ll certainly be at St Andrews. It’s also easier being injured because I can go to Scotland training, and know I’m not harming my chances here (at Stade).”
