But the appointment of Andy Robinson means Edinburgh star Blair may have to prove himself all over again.

“It obviously puts pressure on your in every game knowing there’s someone else there to step into your place,” Blair told BBC Scotland.

“Chris and I have had this battle for six years now and it’s something that you get used to.

“I’m pretty sure both of us realise that if you’re not playing in the game, it’s someone pretty special playing in front of you, and I certainly feel that with Chris.”
