Cardiff Blues have signed veteran prop Darren Morris from Worcester.
The Pontypridd-born loosehead prop, who made 18 appearances for Wales and toured with the British & Irish Lions in 2001, will cover for the injured Gethin Jenkins.
Cardiff’s director of rugby David Young said: “With Gethin Jenkins injured while playing for the Lions it was important that we brought in a player with experience to cover.
“Darren is a quality player with a wealth of experience which is crucial, especially playing in some of the bigger Heineken Cup games.
“He will add depth to our squad and is able to play on either side of the scrum, which could be a very important option for us considering the injuries we have picked up over the summer.
“He has demonstrated his ability having played 18 times for Wales and toured with the Lions and I'm sure he will help develop some of the youngsters we have coming through also."
