Scotland under-20 scrum-half Henry Pyrgos has been training on a voluntary basis with Edinburgh over the past few weeks.
Pyrgos - a mainstay of the young Scots' Junior World Cup and shadow Six Nations campaign last season - is a sports science student at Loughborough University.
Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat, who worked with Pyrgos at the Junior World Cup in Japan, is keeping a close eye on the player with the future in mind.
Moffat said: “Henry has been training with us on his holidays. He's a player that we want to keep very close tabs on.”
Pyrgos is seen as one for the future as Edinburgh already have some top talent at scrum-half, led by Scotland captain and British and Irish Lion Mike Blair, Greig Laidlaw and Ross Samson.
