The 28-year-old, who has made just eight appearances for Worcester since joining in March 2008, has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Luscombe made 16 inetranational appaerances for Wales after making his Test debut in August 2003 against Scotland. His final international outing was against Ireland two years ago in a Six Nations clash.

"Hal is a terrific guy who has been a fantastic player for years,” Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock said.

Luscombe's move to Sixways after two seasons at harlequins reunited him with former Wales boss Mike Ruddock who told the Worcester Warriors website: "Hal has been released in order for him to pursue different ambitions.

"I would like to thank him for his service and pay tribute to his outstanding character and performances over the years, most notably as a member of the Wales Grand Slam winning team of 2005."
