Newport Gwent Dragons have announced former Wales forward and former British and Irish Lion Colin Charvis is to remain as defence coach for the 2009/10 season.
Charvis, who recently underwent knee surgery, will not play next season - instead passing on the knowledge and experience gained from 94 appearances for Wales.
“We are delighted that Colin is staying with the Dragons,” said head coach Paul Turner. “He worked very hard both on and off the pitch last season and he will be a great asset to the side as a full-time coach.”
Charvis said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my experience as player-coach at the Dragons last season and I am looking forward to the challenge of a new season at Rodney Parade. The Dragons have some real rising stars and it’s great to be working with them again this season.”
