There were no fewer than six new faces at Connacht as Michael Bradley's squad reported back for pre-season training.
The Irish province have finished bottom of the Magners League two years running but the westerners are hopeful the new signings can improve that record.
Former Ireland Under-20 prop Jamie Hagan has arrived from Leinster, second row Bernie Upton joins from North Harbour in New Zealand along with compatriot Miah Nikora, who comes in from Tasmin Makos.
Former Super 14 player Upton has previously starred for the Chiefs and the Hurricanes, and the 27-year-old has also played for the Junior All Blacks.
Bradley has also added three further Irish players to his squad – Mike McComish and Brian Tuohy return to Ireland after spells in England with Otley and Cornish Pirates.
Promising prop Jamie Hagan has joined Connacht from the Leinster Academy. The 22-year-old has already represented Ireland at Youths, Under-18 and Under-20 level and was part of the Under-20 Grand Slam-winning side in 2007.
Hagan made his Magners League debut for Leinster away to the Dragons last May.
Bradley is hoping to finalise his squad in the coming weeks and is still in negotiations with several players ahead of the start of the new campaign.
