Glasgow Warriors' back-row Richie Vernon is relishing a return to France for pre-season after enjoying such a productive spell there last summer.
Warriors will head across the Channel at the beginning of August to step-up their preparations for the new season.
And Vernon - who celebrated his 22nd birthday this week - admits he has good memories of last year’s tour despite the injury woes which followed.
“I thought I started well last year on the pre-season tour to France,” he said.
“I got a good amount of game-time and I just wanted everything to kick on from there.”
However, Vernon’s season was cut short when he sustained a serious ankle injury while on duty with the Scotland 7s at the San Diego Sevens which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
“I was pretty devastated having played well at the two tournaments,” he added.
“I felt I was back on my game ahead of the World Cup and it was doubly frustrating to miss out on the World Cup and the rest of the Glasgow season.”
