Hamish Mitchell insists Scotland honours are at the back of his mind after signing with Glasgow for next season.
The powerful prop has joined the Warriors from New Zealand province Taranaki to complete Sean Lineen's squad ahead of the new campaign.
Although a Kiwi by birth, Mitchell qualifies for Scotland due to his father John, who was born in Peterhead.
Mitchell, who has previously played for Irish province Connacht as well as English clubs Saracens and the Cornish Pirates, insists his sole focus at the start of the season will be on Glasgow, not Scotland.
He said: “First and foremost I want to do well with Glasgow. I don’t think I'll have to worry about that for the next wee while.
“I don’t know a huge amount about the Celtic League but the internet is a wonderful thing and I've been doing my homework on Glasgow and the rest of the Celtic sides.
“What I do know however is that Glasgow is a great city, we have a strong team and the club is very ambitious.”
