Coach Ian McGeechan paid tribute to man-of-the-match Tommy Bowe after his try helped the British and Irish Lions see off Western Province.
The Ireland wing touched down for the fourth time in three games in a tense 26-23 victory, secured only after James Hook kicked a 50-metre penalty three minutes from time.
"He is playing well," McGeechan said of Bowe. "He's a very strong runner and if there is space, you want the players to have the confidence to play.”
Full-back Rob Kearney, Bowe’s Ireland team-mate, limped off during the second half with what McGeechan described as a dead leg.
