Scotland star Hugo Southwell will make an emotional return to Edinburgh this season after his new club Stade Francais were drawn against the Scottish side in the group stage of the European Cup.
Edinburgh have been paired in a tough pool alongside the French giants, Irish province Ulster and last year's English Premiership semi-finalists Bath.
Full-back Southwell, who left Edinburgh this summer, will be joined in making the trip across the channel by Simon Taylor, the Scotland No. 8 who is entering his third season with the French outfit.
Glasgow's Scotland men will also be tackling familiar faces after they were paired with Biarritz of France, Welsh side the Dragons and English premiership powerhouses Gloucester.
Scotland Test trio flanker Alasdair Strokosch, scrum-half Rory Lawson and prop Alasdair Dickinson all play for the Cherry and Whites.
With the final at Murrayfield, neither Glasgow or Edinburgh made it out of the group stage last year.
