Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen is delighted that new signing DTH Van der Merwe has shown up so well in Canada's games against Wales and Ireland in the past fortnight.
Van der Merwe has returned to full fitness after a serious ankle injury to reclaim his place in the Canucks side for the clashes with the RBS 6 Nations sides.
He now forms part of the Canada squad in America for the Churchill Cup, in which England Saxons are also competing.
The South African-born winger, who can also play in the centres, has signed a two-year deal with the Warriors.
Lineen said: “We took a look at our outside backs and we need to have quality players at certain times of the season.
“He came over and trained very well with the squad and fitted in well with the players.
“But above all that, he’s a quality player. He’s played for Canada in the past few weeks against Ireland and Wales and has been outstanding in those games.”
