Injury blow for second Evans brother
15 May 2009, 5:00 am
By James Coyne
Scotland winger Thom Evans has been ruled out of Glasgow's final league game of the season against Connacht at Firhill.
Evans suffered a minor calf strain in training during the week and is left out of the side as a precaution, with Colin Shaw wearing the No. 11 shirt for the Celtic League clash with the lowly Irish province.

His absence means there will be no Evans in the Warriors last match of the campaign, with Max ruled out with a much more serious injury to his knee.

There is no place in the squad for Andy Henderson, the former Scotland centre who is heading to France next season after several happy seasons with Glasgow.

Instead, Hefin O'Hare steps into Max Evans' centre berth alongside Scotland man Graeme Morrison.

With John Barclay out for the rest of the season, the back row is made up of Scotland star Kelly Brown at breakaway flanker, James Eddie on the blindside and Calum Forrester at number eight.

Warriors coach Sean Lineen said: "It's important we finish this season with a win in front of a home crowd."
