Weakened Leinster beaten

Leinster rested a host of Ireland stars and slipped to a 27-16 Magners League defeat against Edinburgh at Murrayfield.

Brian O’Driscoll, Rob Kearney and Jamie Heaslip were among those who sat out ahead of their crunch Heineken Cup semi-final against Munster in early May.

The hosts took full advantage, to record their sixth straight home Magners League triumph which put them third, thanks to a first-half try blitz from Allister Hogg, John Houston and Simon Webster.

Leinster, who remain second, briefly provided a scare with a second-half fightback as John Fogarty scored what proved a consolation touchdown for the visitors.
