Walker out for season

Scotland winger Nikki Walker looks set to miss the remainder of the season through injury.

The Ospreys star underwent surgery to repair damage to his left hamstring in January, meaning he missed Scotland’s entire RBS 6 Nations campaign.

He has made excellent progress in his recovery since the operation but is now not expected to feature for the Ospreys again this season.

The Aberdeen-born winger could only watch on as his team-mates were thrashed in the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup at Munster on Sunday.

Now he has his sights set on being fit for the start of pre-season training with the Welsh outfit, whom he joined from the now-defunct Borders, and try to impress Frank Hadden‘s successor as Scotland coach in time for the November Tests.

Scotland should also have Sale star Rory Lamont fit by then too, dramatically increasing their options in the back three.
