Leinster fly-half Jonathon Sexton will miss Sunday's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Harlequins after being banned for two weeks.
An Irish Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing upheld his citing for foul play against Munster’s Lefeimi Mafi in Saturday’s Magners League match.
Sexton was cited under law 10.4 (c) for an alleged kick on Mafi in the 70th minute of Leinster’s 22-5 defeat at Thomond Park.
At the hearing in Ravenhill, Belfast, a disciplinary committee chaired by Hugh Logan, who was assisted by Stephen Hilditch and Neil Jackson, studied the match footage and heard all available evidence.
The player has the right to appeal the decision.
