Ballynahinch overcome favourites
6 April 2009, 7:00 am
By James Coyne
Ballynahinch pulled off a memorable 17-6 win over favourites Cork Constitution in the final of the AIB Cup at Dubarry Park on Sunday.
Michael Graham scored the Ulster’s club’s first try in the 37th minute but two Jeremy Manning penalties kept Cork in touch at 7-6 at the interval.

Kiwi fly-half Ryan Bambry extended Ballynahinch’s lead to four points and replacement John Gunson sealed the win with a late try,

It is the first time the cup has gone outside of Munster following the wins of Cork Con, Shannon and Garryowen.
